Welcome to the Societal Aspects of Weather Home Page. This site is a service of the National Center for Atmospheric Research's (NCAR) - Societal Impacts Program (SIP). The purpose of this site is to provide a database of consistent, relevant internet resources about societal aspects of weather and weather forecasting. The site was remodeled based on a previous site designed by Roger Pielke, Jr. of the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES) Center for Science and Technology Policy Research.
